Route 66
"The Mother Road"
Route 66 symbolized the renewed spirit of optimism that pervaded the country after economic catastrophe and global war. By 1970, nearly all of the highway had been bypassed by a new four lane highway. Much of the businesses that prospered along the once well traveled road have closed, decayed, and have been torn down over the decades. But some still remain and others have been lovingly restored by individuals or communities. One of my passions is to capture these yet lasting icons of years gone by before they disappear from the landscape. By combining the classic automobiles with the vintage backgrounds I hope to reproduce a snapshot of that time in history.
